Pets are susceptible to many dental problems. Some oral health problems in pets may require surgeries. The risks of dental surgeries are less and your pets are safe in our experienced hands. Some of the oral health issues that may require surgery are dental extractions, fillings, tumor removal, fixing jaw fractures and palette defects.
Orthopedic surgical procedures involve minor to very serious surgeries. Most common orthopedic surgeries involve fracture repair and stifle problems. Orthopedic surgeries are commonly done for joint fractures, fix dislocated kneecaps, ligament ruptures, osteoarthritis, etc. Some processes like bone plating, external fixations, and interlocking nails and pinning are used for fracture repairs. We also repair ligaments and fix hip or elbow abnormalities. In the case of bone tumors, we use biopsy and sometimes amputation to save your pet.
Soft tissue procedures involve every other surgery that does not involve bones and teeth. It generally involves the removal of tumors, mass, and cysts. Other than oncological surgeries, we also perform lung and heart surgeries which are also soft tissue surgeries. We also do gastrointestinal biopsies, bleeding control, liver and gall bladder surgeries which are done in the abdominal area. Other soft-tissue procedures in Pet Trust include procedures in endocrine glands, urinary or reproductive tracts, etc.
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that involves 2-3 small incisions that are of less than 1 cm. This is used to perform effective surgical procedures such as desexing in animals, biopsies, and treating bladder disease. Other minimally invasive surgical procedures involve arthroscopy, thoracoscopy, etc. In such procedures, there is lesser scarring, complications, and faster recovery of pets, and these are now preferred for even joint surgeries.
Neurologic or spinal surgeries are required for fracture reduction and stabilization, treating intervertebral disc diseases and spinal tumors. Neurological procedures are also done to treat wobblers syndrome in pets. Other neurosurgical procedures include brain surgeries such as clot or tumor removal, spinal surgeries, and peripheral nerve surgeries.
